We are delighted to announce that well-known radio presenter Garry Richardson has agreed to be the new President of Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society.

This follows the retirement of Charles Clive-Ponsonby-Fane, whose long service to YAOS has been much appreciated.

Garry presented the award-winning Sunday morning programme Sportsweek on BBC Radio 5 Live and was a sports presenter on the morning Today show on BBC Radio 4 until this year, after 43 years in the role, making him the programme's longest-running contributor.

Following his formal appointment as President at the YAOS Annual General Meeting on 12 November, we very much look forward to welcoming Garry to our future events and the benefit of his support and advice.
